An affordable hostel in the heart of Barcelona

The Hostal Abrevadero is situated in the heart of Barcelona, in the famous Barrio del Poble Sec district, 100 metres from the metro station Paral·lel, 5 minutes’ walk from Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter and 10 minutes’ walk from the port and the beach.

Although it is situated in the heart of the city, the hostel is in a quiet area which also has parks, the Olympic Area of Montjuic behind it, excellent transport options with Metro and Buses, as well as centres which offer leisure activities during the day and night just a short walk from the hostel.

How to get there:

From Barcelona El Prat Airport

Barcelona airport has two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

  • Terminal 1: On leaving the terminal you have the option to take the Aerobús (costing €5.65 single or €9.75 return) or bus service 46 (costing €2, also valid with transport card T10). If you take the Aerobús (A1) you have to get off at the first stop, Plaza de España, if you take the 46 you have to get off at the last stop, also Plaza de España. The difference between the two is that one is direct (A1) and the other takes a slightly longer route and time.
  • Terminal 2: On leaving the terminal you have the option to take the Aerobús (costing €5.65 single or €9.75 return) or bus service 46 (costing €2). If you take the Aerobús (A2) you have to get off at the first stop, Plaza de España, and if you take the 46 you have to get off at the last stop, also Plaza de España. The difference between the two is that one is direct (A2) and the other takes a slightly longer route and time. From terminal 2 you can also take the Train (costing €2.80 for a single), which takes you to Sants station.

When you arrive at Plaza de España, you’ll have to take Metro line 3 (green) towards Trinitat Nova and get off two stations later, at the station Paral·lel. The station Paral·lel has two exits, and the best one to take is Nou de la Rambla, as it has a lift to street level. Once at street level take calle Nou de la Rambla towards the Sala Apolo theatre and take the first street on the right.

If you’ve opted for the Train, when you reach Sants station you have to take Metro Line 3 (green) towards Trinitat Nova and get off four stations later, at the station Paral·lel. The station Paral·lel has two exits, and the best one to take is Nou de la Rambla, as it has a lift to street level. Once at street level take calle Nou de la Rambla towards the Sala Apolo theatre and take the first street on the right.

From Sants station (AVE, trains and buses)

If you’re arriving by train, you can access the metro station from within the same station. If, on the other hand, you arrive by bus you must enter the station to take the metro.  You have to take Metro Line 3 (green) towards Trinitat Nova and get off four stations later, at Paral·lel station.

The station Paral·lel has two exits, and the best one to take is Nou de la Rambla, as it has a lift to street level. Once at street level take calle Nou de la Rambla towards the Sala Apolo theatre and take the first street on the right.

From Francia station (trains)

From Francia station, the most convenient way to get to the Hostal Abrevadero is to take bus 57 or 157. These buses can take you to Paseo de Colón which is 3 minutes’ walk from the station. You can get off the bus outside the Apolo Hotel and Theatre. The Hostel Abrevadero is just on the street behind.

From Norte station (buses)

You’ll have to leave the station and go the the metro stop Arco del triunfo. At this metro station take Line 1 (red line) towards Hospital de Bellvitge and get off three stops later to change to line 2 (purple line) towards Paralelo and get off at the last station.
